FURRY FAREWELLS
“You might be temporary in their lives; they might be temporary in yours. But there is nothing temporary about the love or the lesson.” – Tonia Christle
From First Watch to Home At Last
We hope you enjoy our adoption gallery of those who have found their forever homes. Once these precious creatures leave their imprint on our hearts it can be hard to bid farewell – but it is always worth securing space for the next First Watch. Thank you to everyone who sends us their photos to build our gallery with.

Buttons and Socks
09/21/24 You saw them as 6 week old baby kittens, now they are 12 weeks and living the life in their forever home.

We called him Derpy…
This cross-eyed kitten lead us to a colony that desperately needed TNR assistance. Adopted with the help of another rescue, we decided that the next rehab and rehome would be under our own 501(c)(3) organization! Thank you for inspiring us, Derpy!

Baby’s Litter Jan 10th 2024
We tried our hand at puppies! Baby was surrendered at an Ohio Amish farm a.k.a. PUPPY MILL and we assisted her as she birthed seven puppies. Lesson learned? Puppies are a tad more intense than kittens… but we’d do it again.

Foster Litter 2023
After a short break we reached out to a local rescue and asked if they needed help. Their VP had just told someone there was no vacancy, but she quickly reached back out and let us take these guys in. All found forever homes.

Buddy
How he loved the sunlight! Discovered at a residence where an older man had passed away, there was an insulin bottle in the fridge titled “Buddy”. We took him on and he enjoyed his last golden year with us, and what a beautiful sunset it was. We miss you, Buddy.

Grand River Ave Bunch #1
We trapped these kittens and fostered through a local rescue before we were our own non-profit. They were all adopted. Little did we know there was more in store at this trap site…

Join Our Watch
We are always looking for volunteers to help with fostering. If you have love to give, contact us at firstwatchrescue@gmail.com and join our team! Fosters get first choice to adopt.
Please note: Volunteering as an individual does not count towards court-ordered community service hours.
